Write for us!

Be a Guest Writer!

Do you love Korean culture or Korean music but don’t want to write regularly? Perhaps you have an interesting point of view about something Korean that you want to share? Or you love to cook or watch Korean films? We are always looking for new writers so email us your idea (see below).

Become a Staff Writer!

Our Staff Writers have a monthly column about an area of Korean culture they are interested in. They write a regular, once-a-month article that’s published on ATK Magazine. Often they start off as a guest writer but find they like writing for us so much, they will get their own byline and become one of our Staff Writers. Or they have so much to say, a one-time article just isn’t enough. ATK Magazine is particularly looking for Staff Writers in the following areas (but if you have an interest that’s not mentioned, please feel free to contact us with a pitch for it):

  • Korean dramas
  • Restaurant/store reviews in the GTA
  • Korean history
  • Korean fashion
  • Korean music (any genre)
  • Korean cosmetics
  • Stories from the Korean diaspora

Please note: these are unpaid staff positions. We would love to some day pay our writers but we don’t currently make any money to do so… yet.

What’s the Difference?

A guest writer writes a one-time article, while our staff writers write a regular monthly column.

Want to Become a Writer?

Are you interested in Korean culture and/or pop culture? Would you like to write a monthly article for ATK Magazine (or a one-time article)? Then contact Cindy, our founder/editor, and let us know what you would like to write about. We are really interested in those who would like to write about the topics we listed above but if you want to write about another aspect of Korea or Korean culture, send us an email pitching it. Give us a shout! We’re always interested in hearing from a new voice.

Please note: the “ATK” stands for “all things Korean” and we only publish articles that have a connection to Korea, Korean culture and/or the Korean diaspora.

Other Positions at ATK Magazine

We are also looking for a graphic designer as well to help out with a project we’d like to try, as well as ongoing projects with our website.

Hi! I would love to submit my own article about underground k-hiphop scene but i dont have the time to. I was wondering if there is a way we could just submit tips to ATK so that your talented writers will do the write-up instead? There is a new record label that needs to be highlighted. Where can i send in my suggestions?

      Hi Ann,

You can always submit tips to the editor – cindy(at)ATKmagazine(dot)com or via our “Ask Us” page. But unfortunately, there is no guarantee that we will write about them as we don’t currently have a dedicated music writer.

Thanks, I’m happy that you like ATK Magazine. I’m not sure how we could help each other though as we write in different languages.

I sent you some emails a week ago, but I could get any answer yet. I just want to make sure I sent them to you. Have you get them?
