Happy May, ATK readers! How did everyone do in the month of April? Learned about any new music? Saw your favorite artists in concerts? This month has a few concerts, more concert announcements (really G-Dragon?!?!), SMTM6 auditions in the States, Toronto Kpop Con, and of course, tickets for KCON 2017. This year is really the year of K-pop concerts in North America, isn’t it? I hope everyone’s wallets are ready.
SMTM6 Producer Line Up
I will be honest. I have never watched an entire Show Me The Money (SMTM) season. I read the recap articles and wait until they get down to the top 3 before I start paying attention. This season though, I am very interested. The US auditions will be coming up next week and the producers have already been announced. I am squealing with excitement because the producers for this season are amazing.
Many moons ago, I had the pleasure of interviewing Dynamic Duo so they have a special place in my heart. Tiger JK & Bizzy are amazing producers/artists and Dean is the “IT” R&B guy. So many talented producers and from what I have seen from social media, the competition is strong. There were 12,000 contestants in Seoul and the surrounding areas of Korea so it will be interesting to see how many people will be picked from the two auditions in the States.
Do you have any favorites trying out this year? Which producer group are you excited to hear from? Let us know in the comment section below!
KCON USA 2017
KCON USA is finally happening! I know this isn’t in Canada but many K-pop fans make the trek from where they live to New York and Los Angeles, to see their favorite idols. There haven’t been any announcements of artists in Los Angeles yet but for New York – Zion.T, NCT 127, SF9, GFriend, CNBlue, Twice, KNK, Highlight, and UP10TION will be attending.
The tickets for KCON NY have also been announced and I will be honest, they are a bit pricey.
The P1-P5 tickets are about the same but KCON has announced the platinum and diamond packages. Diamond tickets, as you can see, are $1500. There are a lot of perks with this level but, in my opinion, you miss out on so much because you’ll have to stand in line a lot in order to get close to the stage for the concert as well as the red carpet.
Platinum tickets are the same as last year and again, there are a lot of perks, but you’ll be missing out on the convention since you’ll be in line. Have you decided to attend KCON USA 2017? Which artist are you excited to see?
