Fall Fashion in Korea

Fall is finally here! And with a change of seasons, there is always a change of trends. Of course, Korean fashion is no exception to this. This years trends certainly don’t disappoint! So get ready to start pulling out your warmer clothes and see how you can incorporate these Korean trends into your wardrobe this fall.

Bomber/Souvenir Jackets

These jackets are probably the biggest trend I’ve noticed this fall. There are so many designs, so you can get one that represents your personality well. They’re also quite warm! My favorite thing about this trend is that souvenir jackets are actually incredibly rich in history. If you’d like, you can ready more about the history of souvenir jackets here. This is definitely a statement piece in more ways than one, so it’s worth investing in a good one.

Oversized Sweaters

The classic piece known and loved all over the world! Not only do oversized sweaters keep you warm, but they also achieve the coveted cutesy look that Koreans love. If you wear a big sweater, try to balance your proportions out by wearing leggings or skinny jeans underneath.

Dolphin Shorts

This trend is perfect for transitioning from summer to fall. As you’ve probably noticed, the athleisure trend is still going strong in Korea! Wear these on days when it’s still warm outside or you want to be comfy, but still look cute. Korean fashion icons pair these with souvenir jackets (or even heels sometimes!) to spruce up these shorts.

Chunky Heels

Another favorite this season is chunky high heels. We can all thank the heavens for this because these are much easier to walk in than stilettos. Get them in a nude-y colour, or go for a bold tone to add a pop of colour to your outfit. It may seem counter intuitive, but Korean it-girls wear these with thick socks underneath. This actually makes wearing these shoes even more comfortable—which is a definite win—but also creates an innocent, doll-like vibe. This trend works best with skirts or dresses.

Fun Sneakers

For more casual days, once again, the athleisure trend does not disappoint. Fun, unique sneakers accomplish both a cute look and a comfy one. These are especially popular in pastel colours. If you want an investment shoe, look at getting a pair of adidas Superstars. These shoes are wildly popular in Korea and a classic piece. You can pair sneakers with just about anything you can dream of — even dresses!

  • Crew socks (to go with your heels~) Shoot for a contrasting colour to your shoes to make this look really pop.
  • Having a cute phone case is a necessity for perfecting your #OOTD pictures when it’s too chilly to take photos outside.
  • Wear your heart on your purse rather than your sleeve with an adorable heart-shaped purse. This is perfect for adding a romantic touch to your outfit.
  • A leather watch is classic fall staple that never fails. A watch is an especially nice touch when paired with fall items like sweaters.

Final Thoughts

I’m so excited for the weather to cool down so I can wear these trends! I love that these are all comfy and warm. What’s your favorite look this fall? I personally love the souvenir jacket trend. I have one and I absolutely adore the way it looks with my outfits. Will you be trying out any of these trends?
