Opening My Beauty Advent Calendar from The Face Shop

The Face Shop advent calendar - it's HUGE!! That's my tea cup beside it.
The Face Shop advent calendar – it’s HUGE!! That’s my tea cup beside it.

I love, love, love Christmas. I really, really do. And I have a ton of things I do to celebrate the holiday with my family. But I don’t generally have an advent calendar as it’s never really been a part of my Christmas tradition. However, when I first heard about the Beauty Advent Calendar from The Face Shop, I knew I needed to get it. And then I saw that it was on sale on their Black Friday online sale and it was like the universe was whispering “Buy it, you can write about it. Wouldn’t that be cool? Come on, you know you want to.” Hey, what can I say, the universe likes talking to me.

Unfortunately, it didn’t occur to me until just recently that I could write two articles – one that I update daily until the 24th revealing all the fun things I’m unveiling. And then a review article after I try all the products (which you’ll see after Christmas). This is the ‘unveiling’ article… even though I’ve already opened a little more than half of the fun stuff but don’t worry, you can still check back as there’s a few more days yet to open. So drop by daily to see what’s behind doors 16-24. ^^

Are you ready? Let’s open them!

December 2 – Trendy Nails Basic Original Nail Polish

I adore nail polish and believe that one can never have too many. And trust me, if you saw the size of my nail polish collection… plus bright pink is always a good colour.

December 5 – Blackhead Out Charcoal Nose Strip

Oddly, I did a review on nose strips not that long ago and this one wasn’t one of the ones I reviewed. I’m curious to see how it will compare.

Don’t laugh but I’ve never used an eyebrow pencil. I have a half a dozen or more eyeliners but this is my first eyebrow pencil. I feel like a makeup newbie.

December 9 – Milk Calcium Nail Pack

I love my nails and can’t wait to try this. It says it’s for dry rough fingernails, which mine are not, but I’m sure it will still be a treat for my nails.

December 10 – Herb Day Lip & Eye Makeup Remover Wipes

Hands down, one of my favourite products and my go-to way to remove waterproof mascara (which I wear daily because of my propensity to cry at films, TV, books and even commercials… I’m a sap).

I like the colours, except the yellow (yuck!), and am curious if the hair bands will tangle. I guess I won’t know until I try. ^^

December 14 – Clean Face Spot Clear Intensive Patch

I have been using this product since I first saw it in 2007 and it’s my favourite remedy for the occasional blemish. I love opening a window to products I both like and use.

December 15 – Pro Eye Lashes

I will say that this is one product I won’t really use as I’ve only ever wore false lashes once. But of course, I’ll try them.

December 16 – BeBe Lip Mask

I love masks and have never tried a lip mask – full face mask, yes; eye mask, yes but not a lip mask – so I’m intrigued.

December 17 – Mascara

As I cry at pretty much every film or drama I watch and many of the books I read, I can’t use the mascara. Only waterproof mascara for this girl but it was a nice item to open and I’m sure one of my friends will love it.
