Contest: What’s in your makeup bag?

I haven’t written about cosmetics or skin care in a while but I’ve been recently testing some new products – check back on Saturday for my review – and it got me thinking. You see, one of my favourite girlie articles to read is the ones when you see what’s in someone’s purse or makeup bag. Now I’m sure no one wants to see what’s in my purse but perhaps you’d like to know what’s in my makeup bag.

Cindy’s Makeup Bag

Most – but not all – of the products that I use every day are Korean cosmetics. I became addicted to them while living in Korea and haven’t stopped using them. To have an all-Korean cosmetics bag I really only need two things. I’m still looking for the perfect eye pencil as my current every day one is from an American cosmetics company. Oh, I have a couple of great eye pencils from Korea for going out and a liquid eyeliner but not the perfect every day one (I like a more natural look for every day).

The other thing I don’t have is the perfect BB cream. I have a Korean BB cream of course, but the colour is just a little too white – funny but true. My skin tone is olive so most Korean cosmetics work great for me but the obsession with whitening products does make finding just the right shade difficult because I don’t want to whiten my skin. I like my skin tone and *gasp* I like to tan a little in the summer.

But enough about what’s not in my makeup bag… let’s talk about what is in it.

Most of the items are old favourites, except the mascara. It’s new (more on it on Saturday… check back for a full review) and I love it.

My makeup bag always has a couple of lipsticks – the colours change with the season and for spring/summer I love the sheer, light colour of The Face Shop’s Soda Jelly Stick (#1) – I love it so much, I own 2. If I want a little more colour, their Sparkling Lip (#3) is lovely too. And to keep my lips in their tip-top shape, Skin Food’s Honey Lip Treatment is perfect.

I tend to play up my eyes more than any other feature so there’s always some choice of different eye shadows and colours. And there’s always some purple – my signature colour. ^^ For spring/summer I have Missha’s Shine Stick Shadow (in violet), The Face Shop’s Cream to Eyeshadow (PK101), The Face Shop’s Jewel Effect Eyeshadow (05), and my always trusty Banila Co. Color Stick Duo (in a shiny taupe/bronze duo). And of course, mascara – The Face Shop’s Extreme Transforming Mascara.

To finish off the collection in my little makeup bag, I have Skin Food’s blush (#2 – don’t let the intense colour fool you, it’s lovely on your cheeks) and Banila Co.’s The Mineral Surprise compact (I love this pressed powder – so light and natural looking). Missing from the picture is a couple of hair elastics and The Face Shop’s Herb Day Cleansing Tissues (the small pack which is perfect for a quick touch up or to remove your makeup – it will even take off waterproof mascara).

So now that you know what’s in my makeup bag… but that’s not all. Remember the title of the article had the word “contest” in it?
