In New York for the Big Bang Concert

**Mini Post**

While this is not really a “Korean culture” post, although it isn’t entirely off-topic, I just wanted to share my excitement you, my lovely readers, because I feel we’ve become friends over the years… especially those of you who comment and join in the conversation on Life’s an Adventure 2. I’m just bouncing with excitement – I feel like I’m a teenager again as I used to have a hard time sitting still and would literally bounce when I was happy or excited… earning me the nickname, Tigger (from Winnie the Pooh). I’ve calmed down a lot as I got older but today, I’m literally bouncing again.

Why am I so excited?

Today I get to see BIG BANG!!! If you’ve visited before you will know that I absolutely love Big Bang and I have since my middle school students first introduced them to me in early 2007. The song Lies 거짓말 started my love affair with them and each release (and solo effort) has further cemented their music in my heart. I own almost all of their albums (as a group and their various solo releases) and listen to them often.

I’ve also been lucky enough to see them live in Korea a few times – first at the 2007 World DJ Festival (with No Brain, whom I also like) – and so was ecstatic when they announced last spring that their Alive World Tour would be coming to North America. Unfortunately there is no Canada stop – booo T.T – but thankfully, New York is only a 12 hour drive away so my friends and I bought tickets and here we are in New York (or rather New Jersey as the concert is at the Prudential Center, home to the NJ Devils if you’re a hockey fan) . Tonight is the night! It’s been four years since I last saw Big Bang live so you can imagine my anticipation… in just a few hours, they’ll be singing and I’ll be in 7th heaven.

So be prepared for a massively excited post next week with incredible amount of fangirling (okay, my rather quiet version of fangirling but still… I’ll probably still be bouncing while I write it). Did you get a chance to see Big Bang on their Galaxy Alive World Tour (or do you have tickets to see them at one of their upcoming shows)? Do you share my excitement? I can’t wait!

Live life to the fullest everyday – this is a the philosophy I try to live by and it’s taken me on many adventures. I write about Korean culture from a non-Korean perspective as the editor/founder of ATK Magazine and I’m the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Toronto Korean Film Festival (TKFF). Previously, I ran a Korean-English language exchange group (in Toronto) for 3 years to stay connected to my three years living in Korea as an English teacher. I love music, film, food and sports and write about 3 of the 4.

Although I don’t listen to much K-pop I think Big Bang is one of the best 🙂 You are really lucky!

Cindy, I also saw Big Bang in NJ last week. Had VIP tickets and thought it was pretty much the best thing ever. So much so, that I’ve decided to fly to London in December to see them again. I may have lost my mind, but such is the power of BIG BANG!

    Looking forward to your review!

Hi Katie! It was amazing wasn’t it!! It was the fourth time I’ve seen them (the other three were in Korea) but my first “big show” experience. I LOVED it but wow, even as big of a fan as I am, I can’t imagine flying to London to see them. Wow, Fantastic Baby ^^

As for my review, check back tomorrow!
