Writing for The Korea Blog!

I’m just so excited that I can’t wait until Friday to post this!!  A little while ago I applied to be one of the writers for The Korea Blog (http://blog.korea.net/).  Last week I found out I was selected to be one of the writers and then this morning I received an email with all the details – including the official (and clickable) icon at the top right-hand corner of my blog.  It’s going to be so much fun writing even more about everything Korean… I’m just so excited about it that I can’t even think straight!!  But it gets even better.

In the letter there was an invitation to the welcoming ceremony being held on March 29th at Cheong Wa Dae – also known as the Blue House.  For those of you who don’t know what/where that is, Cheong Wa Dae is the office of the President of Korea (kind of like the White House in the U.S.).  Yes, you read that correctly… I was invited to an event that is being held at Cheong Wa Dae.  It is such an honour!  I just wish I could go but I’m in Toronto.

The letter went on to say that “up to three overseas bloggers” (of which I’m one) will be chosen to participate in a press tour of Korea in the fall.  Selection will be based on blog posts, comments and feedback.  So I have a new goal – to be one of those chosen for the press tour!  Stay tuned for many more posts about all things Korean… and check out The Korea Blog!

Live life to the fullest everyday - this is a the philosophy I try to live by and it's taken me on many adventures. I write about Korean culture from a non-Korean perspective as the editor/founder of ATK Magazine and I'm the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Toronto Korean Film Festival (TKFF). Previously, I ran a Korean-English language exchange group (in Toronto) for 3 years to stay connected to my three years living in Korea as an English teacher. I love music, film, food and sports and write about 3 of the 4.
